Thinktank provides free online environments for small non-commercial projects and initiatives. On this website you can register as a group or individual and choose amongst three different types of websites the one which suits your project best. The Thinktank is for free because we would like to support small non-profit projects and initiatives in their work. You can use this website, the Thinktank portal furthermore to ask for technical advice and share information with other Thinktank users via forums, the calendar and the archive.

What?

The Thinktank started as a an artistic research into collaborative online work. As artists working together we were looking for solutions to develop our projects online, especially if we are not together at the same place. How to collect content, edit texts, remind of deadlines, and maybe develop a publication or prepare a project? After researching possibilities in open source software, we found the groupware drupal which offers a modular, extendable content management system for online groupwork. The Thinktank is completely based on drupal, you might want to visit drupal yourself: www.drupal.org

Still, one needs to know quiet a bit about computers to install and adjust drupal to create exactly the environment you and your group might need. Drupal offers a wide range of modules which you can add to your working environment. The Thinktank offers you three pre-configured environments, which all can be altered and extended. Hereby we aim to make it easy for you to use drupal. With only a few adjustments you can start using and working in your own environment.
